World’s largest lighting installation on Finland’s favorite mountain

To mark the 100-year anniversary of Finland’s independence, a whole mountain (The Saana fell in Kilpisjärvi) in the country’s far north (Finnish Lapland) has been lit in the country’s blue-and-white colors, becoming the world’s largest light installation with an area of 2.5 million square meters of the hillside.

Standing some 1,000 meters above sea level, it’s so enormous it can also be seen from Finland’s neighbor countries Sweden and Norway.
