Team Techeetah Formula E race driver Jean-Éric Vergne competed against a very different opponent, the world’s fastest land animal, the Cheetah in South Africa.
The video has ever since has gone viral, with over 5 million views across all Techeetah’s social media platforms.
The video served two distinct purposes. Firstly it focused attention on the conservation of an amazing animal which is only 7,000 left in the world today. The Cheetah in the video is domesticated and born in captivity.
Secondly, as Vergne rightly said, “People are going to pay more attention to Formula E. They have to – just look at the video views,” said Vergne. “It’s becoming more and more obvious that Formula E is becoming one of motorsport’s biggest categories.”
